A split film sensor has several advantages over conventional hot-wire probes. However, the available calibration techniques are reliable only for small pitch angles and/or the calibration procedures are often cumbersome for practical use. In this study, we introduce new normalized parameters to improve the calibration procedure. The pitch angle is determined by the polynomial of these new parameters. It is shown that the proposed method is more accurate than some previous methods and is much easier to use.
