An adaptive MLSE receiver: A hybrid of per-survivor processing and tentative decision MLSE

Abstract

An adaptive maximum likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE) receiver is proposed that employs both per-survivor processing (PSP)-MLSE and tentative decision (TD)-MLSE by selecting one of them based on the instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
