dc.description.abstract | The study is concerned with the theoretical and experimental investigation of axisymmetric hydroforming of sheet metal. The upper-bound analysis is employed to calculate the forming pressure. The effect of blank size and the effect of die edge radius are also studied in the upper-bound analysis. Experiments are carried out for axisymmetric hydroforming of cold rolled steel sheets under various process conditions. The forming pressure is measured with respect to pole height. It is shown that theoretical predictions by the upper-bound analysis are in good agreement with the experimental results in forming pressure and deformed configuration. | - |
