A mathematical model of unsteady mass transfer through the interface of bubbles in liquids has been developed, which takes deformation turbulence into account. The model is based on the theory of deformation turbulence developed by Brauer. The mathematical expressions for the turbulent contributions have been included in the differential equations of momentum and mass transfer, and the resulting equations have been solved numerically. The results show that the Sherwood number is strongly dependent on the Fourier number.
