- KOASAS(KAIST Open Access Self-Archiving System)는 KAIST 교수님들의 연구 결과물에 대한 Open Access Self- Archiving 기반의 Institutional Repository의 구축 및 서비스 시스템입니다.
※ Open Access : 법적, 경제적, 기술적 장벽 없이 전세계 이용자 누구라도 자유롭게 정보에 접근할 수 있도록 저작물의 생산자와 이용자가 정보를 공유하는 것
- 이용대상자 : 저작 논문의 최종 책임을 가진 KAIST의 전 교수님
- 대상논문 : 디지털화된 연구 결과물 전체를 대상으로 하되 우선 시범적으로 국.영문 저널 및 컨퍼런스의 게재 논문만을 대상으로 합니다.
- KOASAS is a system operated to establish an Institution Repository based on Open Access Self-Archiving System for research outputs in KAIST, so that it can disseminate the research outputs and thus improve KAIST’s standing.
※ Open Access refers to online access to information, with which users worldwide can share information with no legal, economic, and technical barriers.
- User Target: Faculty who have final authority for their work.
- Contents: All digitalized works. First of all, only issued article in journal or conference in English and Korea will be accepted.

- 2002년 HP사와 MIT도서관의 협력으로 개발된 개방형 디지털Repository
- 2008년 3월 현재 전세계 267개 기관이 Dspace 시스템을 채택
- 한국에서는 KAIST가 최초로 도입
- 커뮤니티 기반의 Repository
- 다양한 디지털 포맷 및 컨텐츠 유형지원 : Article, preprints, working papers, technical reports, conference papers, books, theses, data sets 등
- 자관의 요구에 맞도록 수정하여 사용할 수 있는 분산형 모델의 공개소프트웨어 (Customizing가능)
- Open access digital repository developed by MIT libraries and HP labs in 2002
- 267 universities and institutions adopts Dspace (Mar. 2008)
- KAIST adopted Dspace first in Korea
- Repository based on communities
- Different formats and contents are accepted : Article, preprints, working papers, technical reports, conference papers, books, theses, data sets, etc.
- Customization is available, so it can be modified for the demand of institutions.
