dc.description.abstractIn this letter, we propose a new detector for code acquisition systems in non-Gaussian noise channels. Modeling the acquisition problem as a hypothesis testing problem, a detector is derived for non-Gaussian, symmetric a-stable noise, based on the locally optimum detection technique. Numerical results show that the proposed detector can offer robustness and substantial performance improvement over the conventional schemes in, non-Gaussian channels.-
