dc.description.abstractThe IEEE 802.11e standard allows an Admission Control (AC) mechanism based on medium time criteria, calculated from the minimum Physical Layer (PHY) Rate, for contention-based wireless access. A pessimistic minimum PHY Rate causes channel under-utilisation. Therefore, proposed is a new AC based on adaptive PHY Rate that enhances user capacity with Quality of Service (QoS) provision.-
