Using a double-stage spectrum-sliced fibre amplifier light source pumped by a single 1.48 mum laser diode, we have transmitted 1.7 Gb s-1 bit rate spectrum-sliced channels over 94 km of dispersion-shifted fibre. The dispersion penalties were less than 0.1 dB even for the channel 12 nm away from the zero dispersion wavelength.
