Source localization using microphone array requires a scan vector that can effectively describe the sound field. The monopole source model used in the previous works to match the characteristics of sound field due to the radiation from industrial sound sources, sometimes brought errors. This is simply because the scan vector does not mimic well to the sound field, under examination. To overcome this drawback, this paper proposes a nonparametric scan vector, which represents any radiation pattern of the sources. This leads to coming up with a localization method named as MRF(Matched Radiation Field) BeamMUSIC. The method is applied to a quadrupole source localization and flow-induced noise sources localization. The estimated powers are illustrated by contour plots and show very compact peaks around the true source positions, compared with the results by conventional beamforming.
