In this thesis, Reed-Solomon Space-Frequency Block Codes are pro-posed as a MIMO-OFDM transmission scheme. The special feature of Reed-Solomon Space-Frequency Block Codes is the Gaussian integer field signal constellations. The bit level Reed-Solomon channel codes are applied to signal space with simple modifications based on the Gaussian integer field constellation. The error probability bound is calculated and the performance is tested via computer simulations. The proposed Reed-Solomon Space-Frequency Block Codes can be interpreted as signal space coded V-BLAST. The performance of the proposed system is comparable or outperform to the Orthogonal-Design Space-Frequency Block Codes in case of frequency selective fading channels, fast fading channels and imperfect channel knowledge at the receiver.
