This thesis presents three interactive surface systems in ubiquitous computing environment. The thesis mainly focuses on implementation of interactive surfaces to let users experience a new interactive way with existing elements of space such as walls, floors and tables.
The digital devices will be disappeared from our living space in ubiquitous computing environment. The systems in this thesis are concerned with the ubiquitous environment that user can interact with computing devices through the surface of existing facilities. Ubiquitous Life is the space system that users interact with environment by a floor Interface. Harmonics Table is the system which uses a surface of a table and a cup as an interface. Land Rush is the digital game, usually played on the ground, which users can play in the same way as traditional games. This thesis describes the implementation of each systems and the advantage of interactive surfaces in ubiquitous computing.
