dc.description.abstractActive networks have some problems about deployment of services defined by users. This paper proposes the packet based configuration for efficient organization of Virtual Active Network(VAN) in rapidly changing network environment. VAN allows Internet Service Provider(ISP) or VAN Service Provider(VSP) to customize the network environments by configuring specific network topology and resource to guarantee their requirements. In the proposed scheme, users(ISP and VSP) describe $\emph{profile packet}$ which contains the requirement of network environments. An active node received the packet selects the appropriate node satisfying the user requirement. We design the Virtual Zone to distribute the traffic and prohibit the monopolization of a single VAN and to support the quality of VAN. Therefore users can efficiently utilize network capability to satisfy needs of sophisticated network services in a customized network called as a resource adaptive Virtual Active Network.eng
