Design of the 155Mb/s burst mode optical receiver module for ATM-PONATM-PON을 위한 155Mb/s 버스트 모드 광 수신기 모듈 설계

In this paper, we simulated and made the burst mode optical receiver module using a conventional transistor array for ATM-PON. Specification of ATM-PON based on FSAN is satisfied on simulation. But the fabricated module has many problems on experiment. Seeing the simulation results, we can obtain desirable performances such as sensitivity of 33dBm, dynamic range of 25dBm, and one bit discharging time. However, we cannot perform any of quantitative simulation about pulse width distortion(PWD). This distortion is a major factor of performance reduction. It is poor that sensitivity is -13dBm on experiment, but we can measure the burst mode data and find out clear differences between burst mode receiver and conventional optical receiver.
