dc.description.abstract | Joining of the composite materials to dissimilar materials is frequently required and an efficient joint can be manufactured with ease by cocuring. In this paper, the dependence of the static torque capacity of the tubular cocured joint on the several factors, such as surface roughness, bonding length and stacking angle was investigated and the optimum values of the factors were determined. Then the torque capacity of optimized cocured joint was compared with that of the conventional adhesively bonded joint. The static torque capacity of the cocured joint was calculated by the finite element model which was incorporated the smeared nonlinear shear properties. Finally, the fatigue strength of the cocured joint was tested with respect to average torsional stress. | eng |
