Power conditioning system in hybrid fuel cell vehicles can be used to store energy generated at one operating load and then supplement the propulsion requirements at a different load condition. Key features of power conditioning system are 1) high-power dc to dc 2) bidirectional power flow 3) guaranteed safety & reliance 4) simple structure and high power density. Prior research of power conditioning system has been preceded but they have complex structure. To solve this problem, 4kW power conditioning system has been proposed. Proposed power conditioning system has simple structure and simple control strategy. By adopting the simple structure and simple control strategy, power conditioning system of fuel cell hybrid vehicle effectively works. And it is implemented by widely used commercial controllers. The operational principle of proposed power conditioning system is presented and verified experimentally by the 4kW prototype.
