dc.description.abstractIn first part of this thesis, aspects of limited angular view 2-D image reconstruction using the characteristic of analytic continuity in Fourier domain of object is studied. In 2nd and 3rd part, optimum $R_oF$. pulse shape construction and a new X-Y gradient coil design in NMR imaging are studied and their performances are analyzed. Reconstruction algorithm of first part is based on the Inouye``s Fourier Coefficient Estimation (FCE) technique for limited angular view image reconstruction. FCE technique is further extended and studied to improve the image quality. In 2nd and 3rd part of this thesis, R.F. pulse and linear field gradient necessary for the spatially resolved Fourier transform NMR are studied. Selective $90\,^\circ\!C$ R.F. pulse shape is optimized to obtain better slice selection and X-Y gradient coil is designed to improve the linearity. Computer simulation studies of limited angular view image reconstruction, R.F. pulse shape and field gradient coil design were carried out and results are presented in this thesis.eng
