고속 병렬 데이타 링크를 사용한 인텔리젼트 디스플레이 서브 시스템

Abstract

1981년에 한국과학기술원(KAIST)의 전산 응용 연구실(Computer Application Lab)에서 Distributed Graphics System을 design하고 implement하는 project가 수행 되었다. μ-computer와 IBM computer간의 high speed data communication을 가능하게 하는, MIHSPDL(μ-computer / IBM High Speed Parallel Data Link)이라 불리는 a parallel data link가 제작 되었다. 그리고 이를 이용하여, host computer인 IBM computer와 결합되어 서로 다른 processor간에 분산처리 기능을 갖게 한 An Intelligent Display Subsystem이 design되고 구성 되었다. 이 system은 IBM computer로 부터 Graphics, Image Data Display등을 μ-computer subsystem으로 분산처리 할수 있는 기능을 지니고 있다. 또한 이 system에 대한 응용의 하나로 " Machine Independent Korean Character Graphics for Motion "에 대한 연구가 수행되었다.
