dc.description.abstract | A combination of the multi-slice excitation method and a localization technique which allows efficient multi-slice in vivo high resolution imaging is described. Spatial localization is achieved by a gradient sub-encoding technique which uses sub-encoding gradient pulses for localization together with convolution processes on each of phase encoding gradient by a set of additional gradients. Multi-slice excitation is achieved by a slice encoding which uses a series of Hadamard encoded RF pulses to excite the slices of interests simultaneously. It is possible to obtain a deliberate slice position and thickness using this slice encoding method with an increased SNR compared to standard time sequential multi-slice experiments, also its encoding and decoding method are very simple. By applying this technique to a human body, localized eight sagittal cross sections through the human knee with high resolution are acquired simultaneously during the same imaging time of one slice image. | eng |
