Polymerization of 2,2-dimethyl-5,5-dipropargyl-2,4-diketo-1,3-dioxane using transition metal catalysts and polymer properties전이금속촉매에 의한 2,2-디메틸-5,5-디프로파길-2,4-디케토-1,3-디옥산의 중합과 그 성질에 관한 연구
Cyclopolymerization of 2.2-dimethyl-5.5-dipropargyl-4.6-diketo-1.3-dioxane was done by group 5 and 6 transition metal systems. MoCl$_5$ alone more efffectively polymerized than WCl$_6$ alone. The polymer yield by MoCl$_5$-based catalysts used cocatalysts were decreased than MoCl$_5$ alone. Polymer structure was identified by $^1$H-NMR, $^{13}$C-NMR, IR, and UV-visible spectroscopy. From these spectroscopic results, poly(DPIPM) has conjugated polyene backbone containing six-membered cyclic structure. Poly (DPIPM) has only partially soluble in general organic solvent but excellent oxidative stability in air. The thermal properties were also studied. The electrical conductivity, $\sigma$, rises from the undopped level of 10$^{-11}$S/cm to a maximum value 10$^{-11}$S/cm to a maximum value 10-3S/cm for I$_2$ dopping.
