dc.description.abstract | In this paper, we present an on-off keying (OOK) LC oscillator-based acoustic transmitter. To increase the data rate of the OOK acoustic transmitter, rapid turn-on and turnoff of the oscillator is essential. By adding a turn-on booster and two pull-down switches to the LC oscillator, turn-on and turn-off time of the acoustic transmitter can be reduced. The proposed circuit is implemented in 0.18-μm CMOS and occupies the area of 0.47 × 0.19 mm2. Simulation results show that the transmitter achieves a 20 % reduction of the turn-on time, 66 % reduction of the turn-off time and 71.7 % increase in the maximum data rate compared to the conventional LC oscillator. At a data rate of 1 kbps, the transmitter consumes 253 μW under a 3 V voltage supply. | - |
