A kind of MR imaging apparatus and method are provided, wherein, the MR imaging apparatus includes:Signal transceiver;Controller is configured as control signal transceiver and applies bipolar gradient magnetic field along aorta direction, wherein, aorta direction is the direction that aorta is located in object;Image processor, it is configured as receiving the phase signal data obtained by applying bipolar gradient magnetic field to object from signal transceiver, the exercise data for representing the first movement corresponding with the heartbeat of object and the second movement corresponding with the breathing of object is obtained based on phase signal data, and MRI data is obtained based on the exercise data.
