This paper proposes a new readout integrated circuit for high-dynamic-range mid-wavelength infrared (MWIR) focal plane arrays. The proposed readout circuit is characterized by asynchronous self-controlled two-gain-mode operation and multiple reset control according to the input signal for each pixel. The proposed circuit was designed and fabricated using a 0.18-mu m 1-poly 6-metal CMOS process. Measurement results indicate that it has a dynamic range of 99.2 dB with a good signal-to-noise ratio for a wide range of input signals at a high frame rate of 200 Hz. The proposed circuit is expected to be useful for MWIR detectors used in missile application systems.-
