This thesis considers power and rate control in order to opportunistically manage the interference in wireless communications. The first research proposes power and rate control to effectively manage the interference when receivers can perform both SIC and SUD in interference channel. The second research proposes power and rate control to increase the performance of cellular communication while guaranteeing the QoS of D2D communications. The third research proposes power and rate control to handle the interference by exploiting multicast when multiple receivers request same data in different times.
