이더넷 링 네트워크의 비환원 모드에서의 장애 복구 방법이 개시된다. 이더넷 링 네트워크에서 각 노드의 맥 주소를 기반으로 각 노드 사이의 링크 우선순위 값을 설정하거나 노드의 우선 순위를 설정하여, 그 우선순위 값을 기준으로 장애 복구 후 폐색 포트를 가지는 노드를 결정함으로써, 폐색 포트 선정의 분산이 가능하다.
