냉동 공조 시스템의 원심분리식 소형 오일 분리기에 관한 연구A study of the cyclone-type compact oil separator in variable refrigerant flow system

Many theoretical improvements have been established since the development of ancient cyclone oil separator, but still it is difficult to predict the efficiency and performance of this oil separator in the case of refrigeration and air-conditioning. It is tedious task to accurately predict the size of oil droplet and condition of incoming refrigerant as well. In this study GPT425MAA compressor has been used to experimentally analyze the performance of oil separator. Using this experimental data a new improved simulation model has been developed which facilitates the accurate prediction of oil separation efficiency of R410A/PVE. The study has been conducted in the flow rate range of 152kg/h~705kg/h and each parameters of oil separator which affect the efficiency and pressure loss has been analyzed and confirmed. The study prefers smaller the diameter of the inlet pipe greater efficiency. But above certain limit the pressure loss occur more than 6 times. The study also concludes positioning of inlet pipe closer to the wall of oil separator for higher efficiency with out any significant pressure loss. The study also found the height of outlet pipe, angle of inlet pipe and height of oil separator do not affect the oil separation efficiency and pressure difference as well. The new compact cyclone oil separator which is suggested in this study is presented volume was re-duced by 75%, and the oil separation efficiency was increased by more than 20% compared to conventional oil separator.
