dc.description.abstract | In traditional design paradigm, interaction has been considered as a mean to accomplish the given task. Under this paradigm, most studies have been undertaken with the point of view on how the system should support users with the purpose of satisfying the needs of users. However, with the product interaction changing into command line user interface, graphical user interface (GUI), tangible user interface (TUI) and the like, the importance of product interaction has been enlarged. In other words, the major concept of product has shifted from the emphasis on function to emphasis on interaction. Accordingly, interaction is considered as a major factor of user experience as the main differentiation factor of the product. However, the needs of existing user or design approach by technology would be appropriate for function design, but it has certain limit to design the interaction-oriented product by emphasizing the efficiency in performing functions. In order to overcome such limitations, there are studies to search for attributes of interaction independently from the user behavior and technology and enable designer to handle them. Through this effort, in the event that interaction is the focal point of product development, not the user needs or technology, new design thinking occurs by the idea on the interaction method. In other words, the new design space exists through the interaction idea. Accordingly, under this study, the new design space by the interaction idea is defined and the characteristics of such design space are learned. In addition, by developing the case with such characteristics, this study has learned the points to consider in the aspect of practical interaction-driven design approach. For the first phase to find out the characteristics of new design space by interaction, the literature study on interaction taxonomy and interaction related studies are implemented to find out the general attributes, including the interaction’s components aspect... | eng |
