I. Basic Study of Non-biofouling Property Zwitterionic polymers offer low biofouling property, the polymers have been reported. However, it has not been fully understood long-term stability of low biofouling ability of zwitterionic polymer. We prepared the films of Poly((3-(methacryloylamino)propyl)-dimethyl(3-sulfopropyl)ammonium hydroxide) (poly(MPDSAH)) which is composited with an anionic sulfonate(SO3-) and a cationic quaternary ammonium(QA+) groups. That polymer was introduced as one of the zwitterionic polymers that showed non-biofouling property. Zwitterionic materials to resist protein adsorption are due to their strong hydration capacity via electrostatic interactions. Based on these properties, to evaluate long-term stability of zwitterionic polymer poly(MPDSAH)-coated surfaces immersed in biological media and measured their thickness. Consequently, the rate of degradation for poly(MPDSAH) surface accelerated increasing temperature. It showed similar trend in ellipsometric thickness curve of cell culture media and fibrinogen solution. Also, the contact angle measurements suggested the polymer maintained their zwitterionic property result from hyrophilicity was still remained. That results indicated property of labile poly(MPSDAH) in protein solutions should be cautious about experiments under cell culture condition. We believe that our approach demonstrated in this work would be beneficial in the design of advanced cell culture systems. This study on the stability gives basic but crucial information for post-modification and other application of poly(MPDSAH). II. Enhanced Catalytic Activity of Metallocenes Grafted onto Carbon-Based Nano-Materials in Ethylene Polymerization Catalytic natures of organometallic catalysts have been modulated by coordinating organic ligands with proper steric and electronic properties. Nano-materials, which have huge steric bulkiness and excellent electronic properties, could be a good candidate to control the catalytic n...eng
