Dot1 facilitates nucleosome remodeling activities of ATP-dependent chromatin remodelers through yis nucleosome binding activity to suppress cryptic transcripts initiation in gene body region
Dot1p (Disruptor Of Tekomeric silencing 1 in Saccharomyces cerevisiase) is a histone H3 K79 methyltransferase involved in heterochromatin boundary maintenance, DNA damage response pathway and transcriptional regulation in yeast and human. Previous ChIP analyses indicate that Dot1p is recruited in actively transcribed region. However, the exact role of Dot1 in active transcription still remain unknown.
