The purpose of this study is to investigate the free edge delaminateion of the laminsted composites under uniaxial strain. The laminste is modeled as a set of anisotropic layers with isotropic adhesive layers. Interlaminar stresses are calculated for laminate with various laminate parameters by using two dimensional finite differnce method. The reidstribution of interlaminar stresses after delamination and the relation between delamination and ply fllure are obtained for [±45˚]s, [0˚/±45˚/90˚]s, and [0˚/±45˚/90˚/-45˚]s laminates.
It was found that delamination can not propagete the entire width of the laminate under the static loading condition.
