High harmonic spectra from neon atoms in an intense femtosecond laser field

High harmonics in the soft X-ray region emitted from neon atoms in an intense femtosecond laser field were experimentally and theoretically investigated. The high harmonic spectrum front Ne atoms driven by 27-fs laser pulses exhibited blueshift large enough to cover the interval between adjacent harmonic orders. The time-frequency analysis of the calculated harmonic spectrum showed good agreement with the experimental data on the amount of harmonic blueshift.
