dc.description.abstract | We propose a new technique called the symbol-by-symbol based adaptive multistage interference canceller(SAMIC). The SAMIC removes both multiple access interfer-ence(MAI) and intersymbol interference(ISI) at the out-put of the Rake receiver. As a consequence, its complex-ity is independent of the number of fingers of the Rake receiver and the SAMIC can be considerably simpler to implement than the existing techniques. Furthermore, by employing an adaptation algorithm for estimating inter-ference, the SAMIC does not require the knowledge about the other users' signals such as spreading sequences and signal power. | en |
