Holographically featured SU-8 polymer surfaces exhibited anisotropic wetting by water droplets, due to liquid pinning at the edges of the top rods in 3D woodpile structures. Square nanopillar array surfaces (tip size, 30 nm) resulting from SF6 plasma treatment showed ultrahydrophobicity, with advancing and receding contact angles of 170 degrees.
